The former estate of Dame Nellie Melba, Coombe carries an old-world elegance that calls for beautiful, garden-inspired flowers. We have worked with the Coombe team ever since they opened their doors to the public. A ceremony in the Italian Garden lends itself to a grand floral backdrop, and the reception rooms glow with an abundance of candles and flowers in reflective glass.

Coombe gives you a choice of ceremony settings across seven acres of manicured gardens: the Italian Garden, the lawn in front of Coombe Cottage, or beneath the estate’s 180-year-old oak, with the Melba Gallery as a wet-weather option. The Italian Garden is the one couples fall for — a secluded room of sculpted hedges and pencil pines that frames a floral backdrop perfectly.
Here we love a pair of overflowing urns on stone plinths, tall floral pillars either side of the couple, or a soft ribbon of white, blue and baby’s breath running along the gravel path so the whole aisle is edged in flowers. Everything is designed to sit gently with the formal greenery rather than fight it.
Receptions are held in the historic Clock Tower restaurant and the Main Dining Room, whose floor-to-ceiling windows look straight onto the gardens, with room for up to 150 guests. Candlelight is the secret at Coombe: clusters of pillar and taper candles in glass, with white roses and baby’s breath at their feet, make the whole room glow.
Down the long tables we use garden roses in blush and peach, or all whites and greens, and a lavish bridal table installation that echoes the ceremony flowers. For a showstopper, clouds of baby’s breath and roses can float above the room.
We have flowered weddings at Coombe since it first opened to the public, and one of our earliest couples there still has a bouquet we made them ten years on. Youki leads every wedding personally: two consultations before the day, then our team installs everything in the morning and packs down after the celebration. Real flowers, never floral foam — always.
